At the Center for Cellular Signal Patterns (CellPAT), Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO), Aarhus University (AU), there is a position available for a center manager starting from October 1, 2023, or as soon as possible thereafter.
It is a temporary position that expires on December 31, 2027.
CellPAT is a Center of Excellence supported by the Danish National Research Foundation and consists of a close collaboration between 4 research groups at AU and 2 international groups (approximately 30 employees in total). CellPAT is anchored at iNANO, which is among Europe's leading nanoscience centers and has strong research activities spanning from physics, chemistry to molecular biology. The iNANO center comprises approximately 35 active research groups, around 150 active undergraduate and graduate students, and approximately 90 Ph.D. students. Job description/research project/research area
You will be involved in the daily operation of CellPAT, where part of the work will involve assisting the center's management with various administrative tasks, including project coordination and reporting to the Danish National Research Foundation and other funding bodies.
The center manager will also support the newly established RNA-META center in terms of project coordination, reporting, and daily operation.The position furthermore involves assisting with fundraising relevant to the center's activities and tasks related to organizing scientific workshops and conferences. The center manager will also act as the coordinator for collaborations with German and English partners within the center.
Your profile
The position requires a master's or Ph.D. degree in nanoscience, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field.
The center manager should be forthcoming and have good communication skills, both orally and in writing, in both English and Danish.We expect you to be able to work in a structured and independent manner and show proactivity in handling tasks. Additionally, you should have good computer skills and preferably experience in maintaining websites. Basic knowledge of financial administration would be advantageous.
Who we are/ The department The Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO) at Aarhus University is the place where chemistry, physics, molecular biology, and biology converge. iNANO consists of researchers from all these disciplines, who together deliver internationally recognized research and offer the Nanoscience education program, focusing on studying at the nanoscale. iNANO provides a highly international working environment with 52 affiliated researchers, 60 postdocs, 100 undergraduate and graduate students, and 110 Ph.D. students.
